What is Squad Wad?

Squad Wad shows the transfer fee cost of every Premier League squad — who spent what on their players, how squads compare before kick-off, and (as team news lands) what each XI on the pitch is really worth.

Key metrics

Squad Wad

The total transfer-fee value of a club’s registered squad — the sum of what was paid (or attributed) for each player in the squad, shown in GBP using live EUR/GBP rates where fees are stored in euros.

Wad Gap

The difference in Squad Wad between two teams in a fixture — how much more (or less) one side has invested in their squad than the other.

Wad Advantage

Which side has the larger Squad Wad in a match, and by how much — a quick read on financial mismatch before a ball is kicked.

Team Wad

The transfer-fee cost of the starting XI (and bench) once line-ups are confirmed — the “on-pitch” wad for that matchday.

Goal Wad

The combined fee value tied to goals in a game — scorers and assisters — so you can see whether the expensive or the cheap end of the squad did the damage.

Data sources

Squad and player fees are built from transfer history and market values sourced via Transfermarkt transfer history and related records. Fixture lists, kick-off times, and match status come from our fixtures database; squad costs are updated as squads and transfers change.

Figures are for context and entertainment — not official club accounts. Fees can include estimates where a deal is undisclosed; we follow consistent rules across clubs so comparisons stay fair.
